  • What is often omitted from the career path are the seeds responsible for growth. There were highs and lows but also painful experiences to endure that were character-building. What I cover here only scratches the surface. All professional experiences have been educational and informative, affording me opportunities to flourish or correct my path and approach. So here goes…  

  • My professional brain comes online in 1995 => (Early 90s Internet Timeline)(Late 90s Internet Timeline)

1996
Internet Explorer 1.0 and an online book seller, Amazon.com is one years old. The web is still in its infancy.
Entrepreneurship in finance and entertainment (performance art & music) is introduced along with financial instruments.
The internet becomes my tool and learning environment.
 
1999
Brokerage firm cleared by ABN AMRO employs me as a securities analyst/assistant to VP of investments.
Concern arises about clock and calendar systems changing from 1999 to 2000.
Early 2000, internet stocks bubble starts to burst.
 
2001
911 devastates the world.
Brokerage firm is audited by NASD and shuts down.
Google is my go-to search engine, and I’m tinkering with Web 2.0 via Dreamweaver.
 
2005
The Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act makes student loans a lucrative business.
Financial firm employs me to work in student finance department. Student loan debt is now big business.
HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are my favorite languages. Front-end web dev is a hobby.
 
2007
Predatory lending and the burst of the housing bubble shows its head.
Financial firm promotes me to management before shutting down. For-profit university hires me in student finance.
Promoted after six months. Data analysis is still my thing.
 
2009
Great recession peaks.
For-profit University restructures, leaders change, I exit.
Peer-to-peer decentralized Bitcoin currency comes online. I start-up a digital transformation company.
 
2010
Fourteen year finance journey involves the internet and entertainment industry (now motion pictures, music publishing/licensing) intertwined in a web-based world.
Peer-to-peer file exchange and streaming disrupts internet and entertainment industry.
Now using technical skills to help clients get up to speed, leveraging new peer-to-peer processes and pursuing a formal college degree.
 
2013
Fast pace technological change leads me to master the art of learning - literally.
Training and mentoring roles are introduced. AI and machine learning are intriguing new tools.
Bitcoin is 4 years old and very volatile. React web framework is introduced.
 
2017
I’m clearly a human-centered technologist. Joins a technology firm as a tech trainer and analyst.
Promoted to develop a new department and incubate talent for multiple business verticals.
Asks boss if blockchain is on the roadmap. The answer was no, I eventually exit and align with my true north.
 
2022
Internet Explorer 11.0 is deprecated. Amazon is one of the biggest companies in the world.
Entrepreneurship at the intersection of finance, tech and entertainment is invaluable.
The internet is on its third iteration, my primary tool, learning, and teaching environment.
Decentralized Webmazer project to digitize credentials & gamify learning is tested and put on hold.
Joins the Reach team - the smartest, fastest, safest progamming language, compiler and deployment tool.
OpenAI ChatGPT takes the world by storm.
 
2023
As Reach downsized, I exit to focus on neuzida.
Invitations to speak/teach about tech & AI commence.
Microsoft Azure OpenAI service is introduced. As a sound business strategist I’m already Azure AI certified.
All tools in the toolbox are priceless. An essential tool & long-range skill is prioritized- Cybersecurity.
Human-centric AI research meet blockchain and security at neuzida.
 
2024
Narrowed focus with intense discipline.
Strengthened inner core as a tool for wisdom vs knowledge work.
