Critical Wisdom Meets the Operating System®

This website has a nostalgic, 90s vibe, reminiscent of the days when competing operating systems were gaining popularity. Back then, Microsoft dominated the market with static, closed-off systems and licensing fees.
We’re back. But history doesn’t exactly repeat itself. Today, we are entering a new era of operating systems that are dynamic, AI-powered, autonomous, and constantly learning. Just as we saw a growth in software-as-a-service over the past two decades, AI-enabled operating systems could be the next big thing. Examples leading up to these system types are Microsoft Windows 11 Copilot feature, enterprise and cloud-agnostic BlackSwan Technologies and indie developer Oria Windows, a desktop app allowing AI integration into your Windows operating system.
While products like ChatGPT are cute chatbots, they represent the beginning of a computing revolution. We expect to see an influx of inventions from non-developers thanks to OpenAI’s no-code custom GPT version of ChatGPT. This new feature’s abstraction is poised to increase OpenAI’s consumer base with a pending app store for builders to earn money. This is great progress. However, what is not widely understood is LLMs are inherently risky and require robust security. In the case of customizable GPTs, there is the adversarial risk of prompt injections with potential access to uploaded files. Savvy developers and non-developers alike would benefit from becoming knowledgeable about red-teaming their AI models.
By the way, Happy New Year! There’s more to discover and share as the new year progresses. I will be sure to bring you along with updates and more information.
